On behalf of the staff and management of Renewable Natural Resources Research Centre
(RNR-RC), Jakar; I wish to extend warm welcome to our website.
RNR-RC, Jakar is one of the Regional Research Centre under the Council for RNR Research of
Bhutan. We are located at 2650m, amsl in Bumthang (central Bhutan), one of the most beautiful
and tourist valley in the kingdom.
The national mandate of RNR-RC, Jakar is to coordinate Livestock Research Programme in the country.
At the regional level, we are responsible for research in all areas of RNR sector (Livestock, Forestry,
Horticulture, Field Crops, Farming Systems, Research Communication) in the 4 east central districts
(Bumthang, Trongsa, Zhemgang and Sarpang).
Creation of this website is a modest effort made to disseminate on-line what RC Jakar has been doing
and is doing. Besides information on the activity description and work plan, published articles in
pdf version from the different sectors can also be accessed.
We hope that you find our website useful and interesting. This being a very first effort, we would
appreciate receiving feed back to improve the page. Efforts will be made to update this website on
regular basis.
We wish to thank Mr. Andras Darbant, CORET scientist who initially put together the contents for this
website and recently to Mr. Sangay Tenzin, ICT officer, ICS, MoA for making this final version
possible.
